Due to expansion in the greater New York area, our client is excited to add an Electrical Estimator/Project Manager to their corporate team in Brooklyn.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Project Manager/Estimator to join our Switchgear Team. In this role, you will be responsible for estimating and managing projects by working closely with vendors and customers. When a customer requests a quote, you will collaborate with vendors such as Schneider Electric and ABB to develop accurate pricing and ensure the best lead times while identifying value-added opportunities.

This is a highly interactive role where you will act as the bridge between vendors, customers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret electrical plans to develop estimates.
  • Collaborate with vendors to obtain pricing and availability for switchgear components.
  • Work with engineering teams to create bills of materials (BOMs) that optimize cost, lead times, and added value.
  • Provide customers with detailed and competitive quotes while managing expectations.
  • Act as the key point of contact for customers, ensuring smooth project execution from estimation to fulfillment.
  • Maintain a professional, polished, and customer-facing presence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical estimating or electrical construction.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial and industrial electrical estimating.
  • Familiarity with New York electrical codes and regulations.
