Empowered Staffing is partnered with a well-established, family-owned insurance agency that has been serving businesses and individuals throughout the Chicagoland area for over 50 years.

They are looking for an Account Manager to manage a book of business, build strong client and carrier relationships, oversee renewals and proposals, and deliver exceptional service to mid-market employee benefits clients.  

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and key stakeholders.
  • Manage day-to-day service activities for an assigned book of employee benefits business.
  • Coordinate all client-specific activities across multiple lines of coverage.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each client's goals and recommend solutions that drive long-term retention.
  • Lead the proposal and renewal process by obtaining competitive carrier quotes and negotiating coverage options.
  • Manage the RFP process while ensuring clients are informed throughout each stage.
  • Guide clients through benefit plan recommendations and renewal decisions.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new benefit products and services.
  • Lead client rollout meetings, enrollment sessions, and benefit presentations.
  • Partner closely with producers, account executives, and internal team members to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain timely communication with clients, carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Assist with maintaining CRM and agency management systems.
  • Stay current on employee benefits trends, compliance changes, and industry regulations.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of employee benefits agency experience.
  • Experience managing mid-market groups.
  • Self-funded benefits experience is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required state insurance licenses.
  • Strong client relationship management and consultative communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
