Empowered Staffing is partnered with a behavioral health organization with programs in Iowa and Indiana. Currently, the company is seeking an AR Manager to oversee accounts receivable and collections operations for its substance abuse treatment facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Process and submit insurance claims (Medicaid, private insurance, and third-party payers).
- Ensure accuracy in coding, claim submission, and compliance with payer policies.
- Manage electronic and paper claims, tracking denials and reprocessing when necessary.
- Monitor and reconcile patient accounts, ensuring timely payment posting.
- Oversee AR aging reports and follow up on outstanding claims to reduce denials and write-offs.
- Communicate with insurance providers to resolve billing discrepancies and claim denials.
- Implement best practices to improve collection rates and minimize revenue loss.
- Stay up to date with insurance regulations, including Medicaid/Medicare guidelines and payer policies.
- Prepare financial reports on revenue, collections, and outstanding claims for leadership review.
Qualifications:
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of medical billing and AR management experience in behavioral health, substance abuse, or detox facilities.
- Proficiency in EHR/EMR billing systems, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and insurance claim processing.
