Empowered Staffing is partnered with a fast-growing senior living organization, and currently, they are seeking an AR Manager with a background in skilled nursing billing to oversee the AR and collections operations for a portfolio of SNFs in Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana. 

Responsibilities

  • Review daily/monthly census to ensure accuracy of numbers and payer setup 
  • Accurately post daily cash receipts, adjust patient responsibility/co-pay/deductible as applicable in PCC, and reconcile cash report
  • Follow up on all required billing information to process billing within the expected time frames
  • Post and verify billing charges/ancillaries into PCC/billing software
  • Generate, review, and transmit claims within the expected time frames for Medicare, Managed Medicare, Insurance- Skilled/Custodial, and Private payers
  • Review AR aging continuously to ensure all current amounts are billed/transmitted, and follow up on accounts per company policy and guidelines
  • Review and reconcile monthly income billed to the patient against the amount deducted from Medicaid and MCO remittances 
  • Analyze accounts with issues and make the necessary adjustments if applicable; coordinate with BOM/Corporate office if needed
  • Complete write-off request with required documentation for approval
  • Follow up and prepare appeals if needed, and update notes on accounts over 60 days
  • Process cost report write-off request with all required documentation for Medicaid and Private co-insurance
  • Analyze accounts under audit and gather documentation needed for the Medicaid Integrity audit

Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of 2-5 years of skilled nursing billing experience
  • Experience with Medicare and Managed Care insurance billing is a requirement
  • Point Click Care (PCC) billing system experience
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office products
