Empowered Staffing is partnered with a Senior Living & Skilled Nursing Organization with a rapidly growing portfolio of facilities throughout Illinois. Currently, they are looking to hire a CFO to lead key finance and accounting functions as they bring it all in-house and drive operational and financial initiatives focused on cost optimization & overall performance improvement.
This is a unique opportunity to join an entrepreneurial healthcare organization as its first dedicated CFO. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, helping shape the company’s financial strategy while building scalable processes, systems, and teams to support future expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute the company’s financial strategy and long-term growth plans.
- Provide financial guidance related to acquisitions, facility expansion, and operational initiatives.
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and strategic plans to support decision-making.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting efforts across all facilities.
- Develop detailed pro formas for acquisitions, new facility opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct detailed analysis of facility-level financial performance, including P&L reviews and benchmarking across locations.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability through expense management, operational efficiencies, and process improvements.
- Analyze labor and staffing costs, the organization’s largest expense category, and develop strategies to optimize workforce spending while maintaining quality care standards.
- Implement financial controls and performance metrics to improve accountability and operational performance across facilities.
- Lead financial due diligence efforts for acquisitions and expansion opportunities.
- Develop acquisition models, valuations, and integration plans.
- Support post-acquisition financial integration and performance monitoring.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience within the healthcare industry (preferred)
- Experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Corporate Controller, or similar senior finance leadership role.
- Strong background in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Experience building financial processes, controls, and teams within a growing organization.
- Proven track record of identifying cost reduction opportunities and improving profitability.
- Experience managing third-party accounting and finance service providers.
