Position: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Edenbrook North, a well-established and a trusted provider in the skilled nursing space, and a proud member of Eden East, is looking for an Assistant Director of Nursing to enrich the lives of our residents.
The Assistant Director of Nursing plays a critical role in providing superior customer service and nursing services to all Guests in the facility. The Assistant Director of Nursing assists the Director of Nursing (D.O.N) in the planning, development and overall operation of the Nursing Department which ensures Guests receive quality care 24 hours a day.
Essential Functions:

- Assists the D.O.N with planning, directing, and supervising the activities of the nursing staff.
- Ensures the Nursing Department is in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop, implement and update department policy and procedures when necessary or as directed.
- Assists with staffing to ensure Guest needs and regulatory requirements are met at all times.
- Participates in Federal, State and Local agency annual surveys.
- Reviews any deficiencies noted by government agencies during inspections and assists with the implementation of changes needed to correct any deficiencies found.
- Completes annual performance reviews of all subordinate staff. Provides guidance and education to staff in regards to their performance.
- Provides counseling and disciplinary action to subordinate staff members as needed.
- Responsible for training and educating staff members.
- Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
- Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment and supply issues to the appropriate persons.
- Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Guests/guests and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
- Must answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Guest care areas.
- Assist with new admissions, re-admissions and assist with the transfer of Guests to different rooms within the facility.
- Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- Wound care experience, staff education experience, and dementia certification (preferred)
- Infection Control and/or Professional Development experience
- Associates Degree in Science, Nursing or related field/Graduate from and accredited nursing program.
- Current State License as Registered Nurse.
- C.P.R. Certified
- Previous experience managing a Nursing department.
- Knowledge of Joint commission procedures.
- Knowledge of State Health Department regulation
