Charleston House Memory Care, a part of the Eden Senior Care Network, is looking for a wonderful Activity Assistant.

We are seeking individuals who are devoted to fostering meaningful and purposeful lives for our residents. The Activity Aide organizes and participates in person-specific activity programming, including one-to-one interventions, small-group facilitation, and large-group presentations. Capable of documenting individual participation and the value of approaches in the medical record.

Job functions will include:

  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing activities to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and emotional needs of our residents
  • Create environments where moments of joy, independence, and wellness are the focus each and every day
  • Help design programs to encourage socialization
  • Provide entertainment, relaxation, and fulfillment and improve daily living skills
  • Prepare and maintain reports on resident’s progress
  • Ensure activity areas are safe and well maintained
  • Generate enthusiasm to encourage and motivate participation

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
  • Problem-solving skills
  • The ability to remain calm and adapt to changing situations
  • Ability to work under stress while remaining caring and kind
  • Ability to understand and work in a variety of situations in a positive and constructive manner
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Ability to be imaginative, creative, and innovative
  • Musical/arts & crafts experience preferred
  • Schedule: Minimum 16 hours per week or 2 days per week, 8 am to 4 pm, and every other weekend

Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
